There’s a lot to love about Teleferic Barcelona. For one, it’s a buzzy foodie destination with a modern and spacious dining room.And, more importantly, it serves delectable Spanish pintxos, sangria and paella.

Dad can still stay at home, but a three-course meal pack (go for the gazpacho) is available for $89 that will feed the family with limited hassle. Pickup at Mt. Diablo Boulevard and North Main Street in Walnut Creek is available through Sunday.

The convivial restaurant has been packed since it opened in early January. As at its other two restaurants, key staff positions are filled by well-trained Barcelona transplants, ensuring smooth service, not always an easy feat these days given the universal staffing shortage in the Bay Area.

Telefèric Barcelona, which has just added Los Gatos to its Walnut Creek and Palo Alto locations, will celebrate all month long with special drinks and desserts. Also on offer is a take-home Valentine’s Day Special Pack for two with tapas, paella, dessert, and sangria.

The vivid presentation was followed by wines from Spain, craft cocktails, Catalonian pintxos, authentic Spanish tapas, and paellas—all the staples of the beloved Downtown Walnut Creek restaurant, family-owned by siblings Xavi and Maria Padrosa and helmed by the Executive Chef Oscar Cabezas—all from Barcelona.

Teleferic Barcelona felt just as classy and exciting as any other Bay Area fine dining extravaganza, and it was only improved by the semi-outdoor setting. As we keep looking for new ways to move into this next phase of the pandemic, I hope more restaurants will embrace rooftop dining as a wonderful way to make better use of urban spaces, while still delighting diners at the same time.

Teleferic Barcelona has opened its third Bay Area restaurant in Los Gatos, an open-space concept with an outdoor patio facing the Santa Cruz Mountains. The restaurant will ultimately be open for lunch and dinner and also hosts a market with grab-and-go bites, wine and homemade sangria to go and paella kits.

From their cozy and fashionable interior to their wide selection of artisanal cocktails, sangrias, and divine tapas, this intimate and elegant restaurant has garnered much acclaim not only in Palo Alto, but in their several Bay locations of Walnut Creek, Los Gatos, and more.

Los Gatos is home to the newest outpost of Spanish restaurant Telèferic Barcelona. Like the Walnut Creek and Palo Alto restaurants, this one serves tapas, squid ink paella and lots of sangria. There’s also a next-door market with imported Spanish goods, wine and paella kits.
